Medical Practitioners practising Musculoskeletal Medicine in NZ, depending on their training, qualifications and vocational registration fall into 3 groups:
1. Specialist Musculoskeletal Physicians who are accredited and vocationally registered with the NZ Medical Council and have passed the Australasian Faculty of Musculoskeletal Medicine Fellowship exams.
2. General Practitioners who have passed the Postgraduate Diploma of Musculoskeletal Medicine and who practice Musculoskeletal Medicine as part of General practice. They are vocational regsitered as General Practitioners.
3. General Practitioners with an interest in Musculoskeletal Medicine with no formal training in Musculoskeletal Medicine.
